How to Connect Your Custom Domain

Learn how to point your root domain (yourname.com) or subdomain to NetSynq in 3 simple steps.

### Custom Domain Configuration

Every paid NetSynq plan allows you to point your own domain name (e.g., `alexsmith.com` or `portfolio.alexsmith.com`) to your NetSynq page. NetSynq automatically provisions free SSL security certificates.

#### 3-Step Setup Guide

#### Step 1: Enter Your Domain in Dashboard
Navigate to **Dashboard -> Portfolio Settings -> Custom Domain** and enter your domain name (e.g., `alexsmith.com`).

#### Step 2: Add CNAME Record at Your Domain Registrar
Log into your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Hostinger, Namecheap, BigRock, or Cloudflare) and create the following DNS record:

| Record Type | Host / Name | Target / Points To | TTL |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **CNAME** | `www` | `cname.netsynq.com` | Automatic / 300s |

#### Step 3: Automated Verification & SSL
NetSynq checks your DNS record automatically every 15 seconds. You will see live progress:
`Waiting for domain -> Found it, securing connection -> Live`

#### Helpful Error Messages
If verification fails, NetSynq tells you exactly what is wrong (e.g., *"We found a CNAME pointing to example.com, but it should point to cname.netsynq.com"*).
